Ed Markey wants men and women to share one restroom.

Ed Markey, 80, pushed a dirty old man rule. Day 74. Men and women in one restroom. Unlocked door. Markey calls it safety. Women are in it. Girls say it is fear. He says inclusion. They say exposure. He stays on script. They lock the door. Boston pays. Markey posts a bill. One room. One rule. This is the future he wants. Men and women. One restroom. He calls it safety. Day 74 and the door is still unlocked in the bill. Safety is a word that photographs well. Fear is a word that does not make the release. Girls learn the stall. Women do the math. An old man writes the rule and calls the discomfort progress. He will stay on script. Again.
